The American-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce and its Northern Greece Committee welcomed a distinguished delegation of 10 Congress members and their staff headed by Congressman Gus Bilirakis for a discussion on strengthening Greece โ US economic and trade cooperation.
The delegates were welcomed by AmCham Greece Vice President Vassilis Kafatos who presented the Chamberโs strategic priorities and the regionโs key economic opportunities highlighting local US investments and the rapidly growing technology and innovation ecosystem. Consul General Jerry Ismail referred to the cityโs history, its ties with the US and the significant progress in a variety of fields like education, culture and business and Congressman Bilirakis reaffirmed the strong and enduring partnership between Greece and the US noting that it is important for this bipartisan delegation to see with their own eyes the particular characteristics of Northern Greece.
The event was hosted by Deloitte and a cocktail reception followed where discussions focused on opportunities to further enhance bilateral trade and investment.
