The Annual General Assembly of the American-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce was held on Monday, June 29, 2026, at the Athenaeum InterContinental Athens, commencing at 4:00 p.m. As this was the second call of the General Assembly, the required quorum was achieved in accordance with the Chamber’s bylaws.
The agenda included the following items:
1. Approval of the previous General Assembly meeting minutes (June 30, 2025)
2. Management Report
3. Auditors’ Committee Report
4. Approval of the Annual Statement of Accounts for the year 2025 and the Budget for the year 2026
5. Exempt the Management and the Auditors’ Committee from any responsibility
6. Election of a new Auditors’ Committee
7. Approval of new members of the Chamber
The meeting commenced with President John D. Saracakis welcome address to AmCham Greece Members. The President referred to the strategy and the rebranding of the Chamber emphasizing that: “An entity with the history of the American-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce must not only manage the present but also prepare the future. And this is the key message of today’s assembly: Now, we are starting the next chapter of AmCham Greece together. As a physical and evolutionary continuation of a long journey. With respect to our history, with trust in our members and with ambition for the role we can play in the coming years.”

Τhe U.S. Ambassador to Greece Kimberly Guilfoyle participated as a keynote speaker and emphasized in U.S. – Greek business environment and U.S. Embassy Athens and AmCham Greece excellent cooperation: “Our work will ultimately be measured not by words, but by tangible results and meaningful achievements. Together, we have already secured major energy agreements and reached historic milestones that demonstrate what energy security in action truly means. We are seeing equally important progress in artificial intelligence, critical minerals, resilient supply chains, and investment cooperation.
Organizations such as yours are indispensable partners on this journey. Your leadership, engagement, and commitment help turn shared ambitions into lasting progress.
Our challenge to you is a simple one: let us do more.”

Rania Aikaterinari, Vice President, SEV, representing SEV, spoke on Greece significant Greek economy development and referred to the continuous and cooperation among SEV and Amcham Greece. “In Greece, we have managed in recent years to regain a significant part of the lost ground and to put the country back on a path of growth and extroversion. However, Europe still faces serious challenges, from bureaucracy and the loss of competitive advantages to the need to formulate a clear strategy for the sectors that will define the future of the economy and innovation. Productivity growth is perhaps the most important challenge for both Europe and Greece. Strengthening investments and partnerships, leveraging technology, innovation, and developing human skills will be key factors in maintaining the competitiveness and prosperity of our societies in the years to come”

Elias Spirtounias, Executive Director, Athens, presented the AmCham Greece management report for the 2025, Katerina Sokou, Executive Director Washington presented the Washington Office activities. Chryssos Kavounides, Treasurer, AmCham Greece, presented the finance report of the 2025.
