The American-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce (AmChamGR) and the North American Marine Environment Protection Association (NAMEPA) proudly announce the organization of the 5th Trading in U.S. Waters Seminar: U.S. & Greek Approaches on Today’s Maritime Challenges, to be held Thursday, June 4, 2026, at 10:30-16:30 hours, (Athens local time) at the Metropolitan Expo Center, in Athens, Greece during POSIDONIA International Shipping Exhibition week.
Organized in cooperation with the U.S. Embassy in Athens this seminar is supported by the International Propeller Club of the United States – International Port of Piraeus, and the Hellenic Chamber of Shipping – Maritime Hellas Shipping Cluster.
Since its launch in 2016, the seminar has grown into an important platform for the presentation and discussion of topics of global relevance to the international shipping community. Through engaging and timely subject matter, it promotes innovation in shipping, offers valuable guidance for vessels calling at U.S. ports, and provides participants with a comprehensive overview of current developments, emerging trends, and the opportunities and challenges shaping the future of the shipping and marine services industry.
Indicative Topics for this year’s seminar:
- U.S. Coast Guard Releases New Guidance on Trading in U.S. Waters
- Shark Tank: A Competition of Innovative U.S. Maritime Technologies
- Safeguarding Global Trade Amid Geopolitical Risk
- Navigating the Future: AI in Global Shipping
- Optimizing Energy in Shipping: Technologies, Efficiency, and the Path Ahead
The Shark Tank Event, which was successfully launched during Posidonia 2022 to introduce innovative U.S. technologies to the Posidonia audience, will once again be integrated into this year’s seminar agenda, further strengthening its role as a dynamic and interactive highlight of the program. A distinguished panel of experts and potential investors will evaluate the participating U.S. companies—primarily start-ups engaged in cutting-edge technologies—and will symbolically invest using “mock” funding, offering valuable insight and real-time feedback. The event provides an excellent opportunity for entrepreneurs to present their ideas, refine their strategies, and engage directly with industry leaders.
