Investor Roundtable with Minister Pierrakakis
Greece is back, open for business, and an attractive and safe destination in an era of increased instability. This is the key message conveyed to investors and policymakers alike by Greece’s most senior economic officials attending this year’s Annual Meetings of the World Bank Group (WBG) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Washington DC.
On October 15, 2025, the American-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce USA was honored to organize an exclusive roundtable discussion with Kyriakos Pierrakakis, Minister of National Economy and Finance of the Hellenic Republic, hosted at Deloitte’s Washington DC office by Managing Director Kostas Makrakis. Open remarks were delivered by John D. Saracakis, President of the American-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce, and Katerina Sokou, Executive Director of the US office, while the discussion was moderated by former US Treasury official and National Security Advisor Mark Medish.
Finance Minister Pierrakakis spoke to a select audience of policy insiders, legal experts, as well as investors from and beyond the Washington DC area, presenting Greece’s growth story and the opportunities created by the country’s impressive economic recovery and the digitalization of the Greek tax system, particularly in the area of bilateral trade and investment.
