Launched in September 2026, the new AI Task Force aims to leverage the Chamber’s considerable knowhow and transatlantic network to drive responsible adoption and successful operationalization of AI across the Greek business ecosystem and particularly among SMEs.

The American-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce has announced the official launch of its AI Task Force, a forward-looking initiative designed to support the Greek business community, and particularly small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), in deliberate and value-oriented deployment of artificial intelligence.

The launch of the AI Task Force represents another pivotal initiative for our Chamber. It aligns with one of our core objectives: to educate and empower our members and the broader business community to utilize AI for sustainable growth, operational efficiency, and enhanced competitiveness in today’s rapidly evolving business landscape.
– Elias Spirtounias, Executive Director, AmCham Greece

The ubiquity and ongoing evolution of AI are creating new opportunities as well as distinct challenges for businesses, rendering strategic integration an increasingly pressing business imperative. Against this backdrop, the AI Task Force aims to serve as a longterm support resource for businesses, facilitating the transition from ad hoc experimentation with AI tools to responsible, outcomes-first execution.

Four Core Focus Areas

The task force’s mission centers on four core focus areas, interconnected strategic priorities that align global innovations with local market realities:

  • Deployment for impact: identifying applications, tools, frameworks, and use cases that enhance productivity and boost competitiveness;
  • Responsible integration: ensuring transparency, accountability, data privacy and protection, human oversight, and organizational trust;
  • People and skills: preparing leadership teams and employees to navigate the operational shifts introduced by AI; and
  • Transatlantic knowledge-sharing and collaboration: transferring international and US best practices into the Greek business ecosystem.

Guided by these core priorities, and comprising experts from across the tech industry, academia, and government, the AI Task Force will develop targeted initiatives tailored to the needs of the Greek business community, and SMEs in particular.

To this end, AmCham Greece is launching a member survey to assess current AI adoption and integration levels, alongside the specific needs, operational priorities, and deployment barriers. The findings will help shape the task force’s roadmap and determine its upcoming initiatives, ensuring they address real-world business needs and challenges.

The AI Task Force features a distinct transatlantic focus, a key differentiator that sets the task force apart by leveraging AmCham Greece’s unique position as a facilitator of knowledge transfer and collaboration between Greece and the United States. Alongside its primary mandate, the task force will also support Chamber committees in an advisory, ancillary, or collaborative capacity on matters relating to AI, helping to highlight AI opportunities, applications, and challenges across industries and sectors.
