1ST INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS CONFERENCE

The American-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce organized the 1st INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS Conference which took place at the Grande Bretagne Hotel, on January 26, 2010.
 
The conference focused on the Measures and Recent Developments in the Intellectual Property Law Enforcement, the IPR Infringement Policy for the Protection of the World Economy and the Enterprises Strategy and Policy for the Protection of the IPR Rights.
 
The conference was attended by two hundred people including practitioners, policy-makers and executives and aimed to encourage collaboration and create a platform of information and recommendations.

The pioneering conference established a strong forum for the promotion of innovation, education, and lifelong learning, with the exchange of new ideas and the presentation of effective practices implemented in the private and public sectors by conference speakers.
 
The President of the American-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Yanos Gramatidis, and the President of the Innovation and Education Committee, Ms. Litsa Panayotopoulos, opened the conference.

Οι πρόεδροι των 5 διμερών Επιμελητηρίων, του Ελληνο-Αμερικανικού Εμπορικού Επιμελητηρίου, του Ελληνο-Βρετανικού Εμπορικού Επιμελητηρίου, του Ελληνο-Γαλλικού Εμπορικού και Βιομηχανικού Επιμελητηρίου, του Ελληνο-Γερμανικού Εμπορικού και Βιομηχανικού Επιμελητηρίου και του Ελληνο-Ιταλικού Επιμελητηρίου, παρουσίασαν σε έκτακτη συνέντευξη τύπου, την Τρίτη 22 Σεπτεμβρίου 2009, μια μελέτη με τίτλο "Η Ελληνική Οικονομία σε αναζήτηση στρατηγικής, άξονες και δράσεις μιας μεταρρυθμιστικής πολιτικής", για το μέλλον της Ελληνικής οικονομίας με βραχυπρόθεσμα όσο και μακροπρόθεσμα μέτρα.

SUGGESTED ACTIONS FOR THE FUTURE OF THE GREEK ECONOMY

The Presidents of five bilateral Chambers of Commerce (American-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce, British Hellenic Chamber of Commerce, French Chamber of Commerce and Industry, German Hellenic Chamber of Industry and Commerce, Italian Chamber of Commerce) met on Tuesday, September 15, with the President of PASOK Party, George Papandreou, and presented to Mr. Papandreou a five Chamber special publication that details a series of suggestions on how the Greek economy can best manage its exodus from today’s economic crisis.

The publication was also presented to the Minister of Economy and Finance, John Papathanassiou, and to the Governor of the Bank of Greece, George Provopoulos.

US BENEFITS FOR US RESIDENTS IN GREECE

Greek residents receiving federal benefits from the United States will have the option, beginning this month, of having those benefits deposited directly into a U.S. dollar account, according to a press release issued by the U.S. Embassy on Thursday.
