The Athens Exchange Group and the American-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce have successfully organized the 4th Greek Investment Forum in NY on June 9 and 10, 2015 at the Sofitel Hotel in New York, NY USA.
The event included B2B meetings with representatives of 21 Greek listed companies’ and US fund managers, networking events as well as a panel presentation by the organizers and Greek bankers. More specifically, the CEO of Athens Exchange Group, Mr. Socrates Lazaridis said that the interest of investment firms for Greek companies remains still high and this is due to the companies’ skills that, in a difficult environment, show capability to maintain their outward orientation and to successfully operate worldwide.
He also stressed the need to exploit the keen investment interest from abroad, especially from the USA, the capital inflow of which will catalytically contribute to the companies’ as well as the country’s development, through the Athens Exchange. The President of the American-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Simos Anastasopoulos said that the Greek private sector represents a country that is productive, competitive and resilient to the crisis. As he mentioned: “We expect soon a loyal agreement with our partners that will unleash the considerable forces of Greek Economy and reward those who in time have invested in Greece”. As part of the forum, Mr. Platon Monokroussos, Chief Group Economist of Eurobank Group and Mr. Elias Lekkos, Chief Group Economist of Piraeus Bank Group, presented the investors facts and figures and developments of the Greek economy, investment opportunities and challenges in Greece today. The speakers had the opportunity to answer the questions of investment firms’ representatives participating in the Forum.
