The American-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce organized the TradeUSA Open Day Event on October 2, 2015. Our aim was to present the TradeUSA Department, to showcase how we organize the trade delegations and to announce our 2016 strategy. The participating companies came from the indsutries of Construction – Food&Beverages – Fashion and are interested in expanding their trade activities to the USA.
The Open Day Event splitted into three different sessions according to industries.

CONSTRUCTION – MATERIAL – DESIGN
With a market share of around 10%, the United States is the second largest construction market worldwide. Within the United States, most new construction projects are coming on stream in New York, which tops the list regarding construction expenditure in American cities. In the United States, private construction spending reached around 627 billion U.S. dollars in 2013. New construction put in place is forecast to exceed one trillion U.S. dollars by 2015.
FASHION & ACCESSORIES
The global fashion industry is one of the most important sectors of the economy in terms of investment, revenue, trade and employment all over the world. The U.S. apparel market is the largest in the world, comprising about 28 percent of the global total and has a market value of about 331 billion U.S. dollar.
FOOD & BEVERAGES
The food retail industry comprises foods sold at food retailers such as grocery stores, mass merchandisers, drug stores, convenience stores and foodservice facilities. Total retail and food service sales in the United States amounted to about 5.27 trillion U.S. dollars in 2014. The American retail landscape generated net sales amounting to 288.05 billion U.S. dollars in 2015 and operated 4,516 stores nationwide.
